Where Every Cabin Has a Story
Everwild Cabins is a small collection of private themed cabins in Wimberley, Texas, each inspired by photography, music, wildlife, travel, and the wild places that have shaped my life.
About Everwild Cabins
Everwild Cabins is a small collection of private cabins in the Texas Hill Country, tucked away in Wimberley and surrounded by the kind of quiet that makes you slow down a little.
I’ve been hosting guests here for over thirty years, long before vacation rentals became what they are today. What started as a few cabins on five acres has slowly grown into something much more personal. These cabins have held honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, engagements, family getaways, quiet weekends, and return visits from guests who have made this place part of their own story.
Everwild Cabins is now part of a larger vision I’m building next door: Everwild, a gallery, event space, and conservation-focused gathering place built around photography, music, storytelling, and the wild places that have shaped my life.
Each cabin has its own theme, inspired by the places, animals, music, and stories that have shaped my photography. I wanted every cabin to feel different. Not just a place to sleep, but a place with a little personality and a story behind it.
The Rock Star
Inspired by my years photographing musicians, The Rock Star has a Texas music feel with photographs of artists like Willie Nelson, Billy Gibbons, Lyle Lovett, and other legends I’ve had the chance to photograph over the years. It is bold, fun, and a little bit backstage.
Cheval Blanc
Cheval Blanc is inspired by the white horses of the Camargue in the south of France. It has a romantic, quiet, artful feel, built around one of the places and subjects that has stayed with me the most.
The Crash Pad
The Crash Pad is our rhino-themed cabin, inspired by my work in Kenya and my connection to rhino conservation. A group of rhinos is called a crash, which gave the cabin its name.
The story also connects back to Wimberley the rhino, a southern white rhino I adopted at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya through a fundraiser here in Wimberley. This cabin carries that story in a fun, meaningful way, while giving guests a small connection to the wildlife and conservation work behind Everwild.
The Surf Hut
The Surf Hut is inspired by the ocean, surf culture, and my underwater photography. It features images from the water and the places that pulled me back into the ocean, from surf trips to encounters with sharks, whales, sea lions, and other marine life. It has a relaxed coastal feel with a little sense of adventure.

The heart of the place is simple.
I want people to come here and feel like they have stepped away from the noise for a while. To sit under the stars. To drink coffee slowly in the morning. To soak in a hot tub after a day in town. To wander through Wimberley, come back to a quiet cabin, and feel like they found a little corner of the Hill Country that still feels wild.
Everwild Cabins is close to the Wimberley square, restaurants, shops, swimming holes, wineries, and live music, but each cabin is designed to feel private and tucked away. You get the convenience of town without losing the feeling of escape.
For me, Everwild is about more than lodging. It is about creating a place where art, nature, travel, and memory all come together. A place that feels personal. A place with a story behind it.
I hope when you stay here, you feel that.
And I hope you leave with a story of your own.
