The Backstory

The owner, Rodney Bursiel, long-time Wimberely local, a professional National Geographic and Music Industry photographer, has recently rebranded his popular cabins (formally “Bird Song Cabins”) now each inspired by themes from his unique travels. Every cabin includes its own pool and/or hot tub, thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the stunning surroundings of the area.

Designed for connection and celebration, our unique property invites you to create unforgettable memories with friends and family.

Set against a backdrop of majestic cedar and oak trees, each of our four distinct cabins embodies its own artistic story and ambiance, providing a perfect blend of togetherness and privacy.

For over 30 years, these handcrafted cabins have welcomed generations of guests seeking an escape for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and cherished weekends that become lasting traditions. Thoughtfully situated on the land to preserve natural beauty, every cabin reflects the owner's passions in photography, travel, music, and adventure—ensuring a personal touch that transcends typical vacation rentals.

Meet Rodney

Wimberley has been a place to relax, recharge, and fuel my creativity ever since I first discovered it. When I bought these five acres, I spent countless hours walking the property until I could picture exactly where each cabin belonged.

Every cabin reflects a different chapter of my life and travels. They're decorated with treasures I've collected while photographing the world, along with many of my own wildlife, music, and nature photographs. From the beginning, my goal has been to preserve as many of the property's beautiful oaks and cedars as possible, creating a place that feels peaceful, natural, and a little magical.

One of the things guests appreciate most is the privacy. Although there are multiple cabins on the property, the trees and thoughtful placement mean that from your cabin, you won't see the others. Each retreat feels like your own private escape.

I personally care for the property and am always just a phone call or text away if you need anything during your stay.

Thank you for considering Everwild Cabins. I hope you'll experience the peace, inspiration, and beauty that have kept me rooted here for more than 30 years.

Your Host,
Rodney Bursiel
